Retailers are listing the new DJI Mavic Mini drone on their websites which confirm those leaks that have recently been made, and prices the drone at $646.15 Canadian dollars (around $494) when sold with DJI’s Fly More kit. $500 is a rather accurate price point, given that it’s the same price that the DJI Spark went for back in 2017, but its extra small size an weight will likely make the Mavic Mini appeal to a wider and more niche audience.
The listing reconfirms the DJI Mavic Mini specs as we’ve reported them in previous articles.Important specs listed on websites such as Newegg confirms the DJI Mavic Mini specs listed above. This means that any those who end up getting the drone, in the US (and soon the UK) won’t have to register this drone with authorities in order to fly it. Until now, DJI’s lightest Mavic drone was the Mavic Air, which weighs 430g, which is above the FAA registration cutoff of 8.8 ounces (250g).
Flight time is rated at 30 minutes according to the product listing (which confirms with DroneDJ’s previous report), and recording resolution apparently tops out at 2.7K rather than 4K. So no 4K, but a very interesting release by DJI, which leaves us thinking that keeping the weight under the "radar" may have been the biggest influence for its creation and release.
