About the Two Gimbals

Before we dive into the head-to-head gimbal comparison, let's take a quick look at the base stats for each of these. We'll start with the Zhiyun Weebill 2 Pro.

Zhiyun Weebill 2 Pro

The Zhiyun Weebill 2 Pro has 3 axes and a 7.3 lb load capacity. The yaw has a rotation range of 360°, while the pitch has -150 to 190° and the roll offers -260 to 80°. The Weebill 2 Pro features 1 USB port and operates on a 2.4GHz frequency. This gimbal has Bluetooth 5.0. The Zhiyun takes 3 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries with a 2600 mAh capacity lasting about 9 hours. The gimbal itself weighs 3.15 lbs and has two grip points. DJI RS 2

The RS 2 has 3 axes as well and a 10 lb load capacity. The yaw has a rotation range of 360°, while the pitch has -112 to 214° and the roll offers -95 to 240°. The RS 2 features 3 USB ports as well as 2 RSA ports and operates on a 2.4GHz frequency. This gimbal also has Bluetooth 5.0. Now on to Which Gimbal is Best!

Connor and Zach ran a variety of tests to find out which gimbal is best. They tested the gimbal for walking shots and running shots. Then they tested the performance when used in low-angle modes. Then they did parallax testing by circling around the subjects. The guys also tested the stability with 75mm and 150mm shots to mimic Michael Bay-style shooting. They also put the gimbals to the test by shooting with strong back winds and head winds to really see how these handled in tough shooting conditions.

The Results

After all the testing was completed, the results are in! Now before we reveal anything it is important to note that basically all of these tests are subjective. Without specialized equipment, it comes down to which gimbal feels best and looks best to our eyes. Ultimately, other users will have different opinions on which gimbal works best for them. With that said, here's what Connor and Zach thought! It was unanimous that the RS 2 had smoother footage. While ultimately that may be the most important factor for most users, there are other considerations. The Weebill 2 Pro does perform really well and still looks great.

Design

In terms of design, the Weebill wins this head-to-head. The two points of contact make this gimbal feel great in your hands. And the other big feature is the flipout touch screen that really brings this gimbal to the next level. This is a feature that we'd expect to see adopted in many future gimbals from different manufacturers. As for the RS 2, the design is definitely great. The carbon fiber makes the design look sleek, and it also brings the weight down which is obviously a huge plus. Despite being lighter, the RS 2 somehow feels more solid and less "plastic-y."

Under-Slung Mode

One area that Connor and Zach disagreed on was the under-slung mode. While Zach preferred the Weebill under-slung mode with the handle, Connor liked the reach of the DJI. When going under-slung, you can stand upright and use the main handle of the RS 2 to get the camera really low to the ground. This can save you some back ache!

So Which Gimbal?

After all the testing, the guys agreed that the Weebill is the better value for the money. When factoring in other attachments and costs, the head-to-head comparison becomes a bit closer.
