Description — Canon Digital IXUS 50
The Canon Digital IXUS 50 is a point-and-shoot compact camera built into a metal body measuring 86 x 53 x 21 mm and weighing just 130g. At its core is a 5MP sensor in a 1/2.5-inch format, paired with Canon's DIGIC II image processor to deliver maximum still image resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. For framing shots, users can choose between the 2.0-inch TFT LCD display with 118,000 dots of resolution or the included optical tunnel viewfinder.
The 9-point contrast detection autofocus system covers the frame effectively, and burst mode supports shooting at up to 2.1 fps. Six color profiles — Standard, Vivid, Neutral, Sepia, Black & White, and My Colors — allow in-camera creative adjustments. The ISO 50–400 range and built-in flash handle a range of lighting situations.
Video recording tops out at 480p at 30fps in 8-bit color. Images save to SD cards, and the camera connects via USB. The NB-4L Lithium-Ion battery provides approximately 150 shots per charge (CIPA standard).
