The Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS is a pocket-sized point-and-shoot camera built for casual everyday use. Its 8MP sensor sits inside a 1/2.5-inch chip and is paired with the DIGIC III image processor, producing still images at up to 3264x2448 pixels. The metal body keeps weight down to just 128g while measuring a slim 87 x 55 x 22 mm, making it easy to carry anywhere.
Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) is built in to counteract camera shake during handheld shooting. On the back, a 2.5-inch LCD display handles composition and image review, and a tunnel-type optical viewfinder is also available. The autofocus system uses contrast detection.
