Description — Canon Digital IXUS 960 IS
The Canon Digital IXUS 960 IS centers on a 12MP, 1/1.7-inch sensor processed by Canon's DIGIC III engine, covering an ISO range from 80 to 1600. The camera's Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) system addresses camera shake without relying on digital correction. Autofocus is handled by a 9-point system combining Contrast Detection and Face Detection AF, making it practical for portraits and everyday subjects.
The rear 2.5-inch TFT LCD at 230,000 dots handles primary framing and review duties, while an optical tunnel viewfinder provides an alternative for eye-level shooting. Built from titanium, the body measures 96 x 60 x 28 mm and weighs 191g, making it genuinely compact for everyday carry. Storage uses SD and SDHC cards, and USB connectivity is available for wired transfers.
Video records at up to 640x480 at 30fps in 8-bit. The built-in pop-up flash supports four modes: auto, on, off, and slow sync. Twelve photo color profiles — including Vivid, Sepia, Positive Film, Lighter Skin Tone, Darker Skin Tone, and Custom — provide meaningful creative options for in-camera JPEG output.
Battery life is rated at approximately 230 shots per charge (CIPA).
