Description — Canon FS100
The Canon FS100 is a consumer camcorder designed with portability in mind. Weighing just 260g and measuring 121 x 55 x 59mm, it is compact enough for everyday carry. At its core is a 1/6-inch sensor capable of capturing video at up to SD (480p) resolution and 30fps, recorded in either MPEG-2 or H.264 format onto SD or SDHC cards.
The 2.7-inch LCD display with 123,000 dots is the sole monitoring option, as no viewfinder is included. Autofocus is handled via a contrast detection system, and image stabilization is digital/electronic. Audio is supported through a 3.5mm microphone input, and connectivity includes USB 2.0 for transferring footage.
A cold shoe (no contacts) allows accessory mounting. The Lithium-Ion battery provides approximately 3 hours of runtime. The plastic body carries no weather sealing, making this best suited to casual, dry-condition use.
