The Canon PowerShot A530 is a compact point-and-shoot camera centered on a 5MP, 1/2.5-inch sensor powered by Canon's DIGIC II image processor. Maximum still resolution reaches 2592x1944 pixels, with a burst mode running at up to 2.1 frames per second. Six color profiles — Standard, Vivid, Neutral, Sepia, Black & White, and Custom — provide creative flexibility for a camera in this class.
Autofocus is handled by a 9-point contrast detection system, and both an optical viewfinder and a 1.8-inch TFT LCD with 77,000 dots are available for composing shots. Video recording is available at 480p resolution and 30fps in 8-bit. ISO sensitivity runs from 80 to 800, covering standard daylight and moderate indoor conditions.
