Description — Canon PowerShot A550
The Canon PowerShot A550 is a 7MP point-and-shoot camera built on a 1/2.5-inch sensor and processed by Canon's DIGIC II engine. It shoots stills at up to 3072x2304 pixels with a 9-point contrast-detection autofocus system, and offers a burst mode capable of 1.7 frames per second. Five color profiles — Standard, Vivid, Neutral, Sepia, and Black & White — give shooters some creative control over the look of their images.
The ISO 80–800 range keeps noise manageable across a variety of lighting conditions. Framing is handled through a 2.0-inch TFT LCD at 86,000 dots or an optical viewfinder. The built-in flash supports Auto, Red-eye reduction, and Slow sync modes for basic low-light coverage.
At just 160g and 91 x 64 x 43 mm, the plastic-bodied A550 is genuinely pocketable. It runs on 2x AA batteries (alkaline, NiMH, or lithium), connects via USB, and stores images on SD or SDHC cards. Video recording is available at up to 480p at 30fps.
