The Nikon COOLPIX S2 is a compact point-and-shoot camera designed for portability. Its body measures 92 x 59 x 22 mm, weighs just 160g, and is constructed from a plastic/metal composite material with dust resistant protection. At its core is a 5MP, 1/2.5-inch sensor delivering a maximum still image resolution of 2592x1944 pixels in sRGB color.
The 2.5-inch TFT LCD screen offers 110,000 dots of resolution for image review and live composition. Autofocus uses contrast detection with 1 focus point. Sensitivity spans ISO 50 to 400, and burst shooting is available at up to 1.8 frames per second.
The built-in flash supports Auto, Red-Eye Reduction, Off, On, and Slow Sync modes. Storage is handled via SD card or internal storage, with USB connectivity for offloading files. Video records at a maximum of 15fps.
