Description — Olympus AZ-2 Zoom
The Olympus AZ-2 Zoom is a point-and-shoot compact camera built around a 1/2.5-inch, 4MP sensor capable of producing images at up to 2288x1712 pixels in sRGB color. The body is constructed from a plastic/metal composite, measures 100 x 60 x 20 mm, and weighs just 140g, making it genuinely pocketable. On the back, a 2.5-inch TFT LCD with 210,000 dots provides a clear view for composing shots and reviewing images.
Autofocus uses contrast detection with a single focus point — simple and reliable in typical shooting conditions. The built-in flash covers four modes: Auto, Red-eye reduction, Fill-in, and Off, giving shooters basic control over flash behavior. The ISO 64–250 range is best suited to outdoor or well-lit scenes.
For video, the camera records at 320x240 resolution and 15fps in 8-bit sRGB. There is no image stabilization present. Connectivity is provided via USB, with no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The LI-40B/LI-42B Li-ion battery is rated for approximately 150 shots per charge under the CIPA standard.
