The Olympus FE-4040 is a point-and-shoot compact camera centered on a 14MP, 1/2.3-inch sensor powered by the TruePic III image processor. Maximum still resolution reaches 4288x3216 pixels, and the autofocus system combines contrast detection, face detection AF, and subject tracking for reliable performance across a variety of shooting situations. The ISO range spans 100 to 1600, and digital/electronic image stabilization helps reduce blur from camera movement.
A 2.7-inch fixed LCD with 230,000 dots handles all framing and playback duties. The camera accepts SD, SDHC, and internal storage media, and connects to a computer over USB. Video capture is available at up to 480p at 30fps.
