The Olympus Tough TG-4 is a point-and-shoot compact camera designed for outdoor use, featuring a water resistant body constructed from plastic/composite materials. It measures 112 x 66 x 31 mm and weighs 247g, making it genuinely pocketable for travel and adventure use. The 16MP, 1/2.3-inch sensor is powered by the TruePic VII image processor, capturing stills at up to 4608x3456 pixels with an ISO range of 100–6400.
Burst shooting is available at up to 5 frames per second, and in-body sensor-shift (IBIS) stabilization works to reduce camera shake. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30fps, with additional frame rate options of 120fps and 240fps for slow-motion footage, all recorded in 8-bit color. The 3.0-inch fixed LCD with 460,000 dots is the sole composition tool, as no viewfinder is included.
