The Rokinon 18mm f/2.8 is a prime wide-angle lens designed for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras with full-frame coverage. Tipping the scales at just 145g, it is a genuinely compact option for photographers who want a wide-angle lens without the weight penalty. The maximum aperture of f/2.8 and minimum aperture of f/22 provide a broad range of exposure control.
Inside, the optical design uses 9 elements in 8 groups, with a sophisticated mix of 3 aspherical elements, 3 extra-low dispersion elements, and 2 high refractive elements. Ultra Multi-Coating is applied across the elements to help reduce flare and ghosting. The lens supports both autofocus and manual focus, and the minimum focusing distance is 9.8 inches. A 58mm filter thread is standard.
Note that this lens has no image stabilization built in.
