The Samsung ST72 is a compact point-and-shoot camera centered on a 16MP, 1/2.3-inch sensor processed by a Samsung Custom image processor. It captures stills at up to 4608x3456 pixels and supports an ISO range of 80 to 3200. The camera's 3.0-inch fixed LCD with 230,000 dots serves as the sole composition display — there is no viewfinder.
Video recording is available at up to 720p at 30fps or 15fps, with 8-bit color rendering. Stabilization is provided via Digital/Electronic IS. The autofocus system combines Contrast Detection, Face Detection AF, and subject tracking with Multi-point AF.
Storage is handled by microSD and microSDHC cards, and connectivity includes USB. The plastic body weighs just 114g and measures 94 x 58 x 18mm, keeping it genuinely compact. The integrated flash operates in Manual Only mode, and the BP70A Li-ion battery is rated for approximately 250 shots per charge.
