The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-U50 is a compact point-and-shoot camera built for portability above all else. The body measures 100 x 41 x 25 mm and weighs just 132g, constructed from plastic for a lightweight feel. At its core is a 2MP, 1/2.5-inch sensor with a maximum capture resolution of 1632x1224 pixels.
Image review is handled by a 1.0-inch fixed LCD with 64,000 dots. Autofocus uses a contrast detection system with 1 focus point. The built-in flash offers Auto, Red-Eye Reduction, On, and Off modes with a range of 0.5–1.8 meters.
