The Sony FX30 Cinema Camera is built around a 26MP APS-C sensor powered by the BIONZ XR image processor. It captures 4K video at frame rates of 24fps, 30fps, 60fps, and 120fps in 10-bit color depth, supporting color profiles including S-Cinetone, S-Log3, and HLG for post-production grading flexibility. The autofocus system is a Hybrid (Phase + Contrast) design with 425 focus points, incorporating Eye Detection AF, Face Detection AF, Animal Detection AF, and AI-Based Subject Tracking for reliable focus in demanding conditions.
Stabilization is handled by 5-Axis In-Body IS combined with Digital IS. The body is Weather Sealed and constructed from Magnesium Alloy, measuring 129.7 x 77.8 x 84.5mm and weighing 646g. The 3.0-inch LCD display runs at 1280x720 resolution.
