The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ1 is a point-and-shoot camera built on a 2MP, 1/3-inch sensor processed by the Venus Engine (I). Its ISO sensitivity runs from 50 to 400, and optical image stabilization (OIS) is on board to counteract camera movement. Shooters can frame their subjects using the 1.5-inch TFT LCD (114,000 dots) or the Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), also at 114,000 dots.
Autofocus relies on contrast detection with a single focus point. Still images can be captured at up to 1600x1200 pixels, with a burst mode reaching 4fps. Video is recorded at up to 320x240 at 10fps in 8-bit color.
