The Panasonic LUMIX LS5 is a compact point-and-shoot camera centered on a 14MP sensor with a 1/2.3-inch type and a maximum still resolution of 4320x3240 pixels. Its autofocus system uses Contrast Detection and Face Detection AF across 9 focus points, while Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) helps keep shots sharp during handheld use. The built-in flash supports Auto, On, Off, and Red-Eye Reduction modes, and five color profiles — Standard, Vivid, Natural, Black & White, and Sepia — provide basic creative flexibility.
Video recording tops out at 720p at 30fps. The 2.7-inch TFT LCD with 230,000 dots is the sole framing option. Powered by 2 x AA batteries (NiMH recommended) for approximately 160 shots (CIPA), the camera stores images to SD, SDHC, or SDXC cards and connects to a computer via USB.
