The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM is an impressive wide-angle zoom lens within the esteemed L-series lineup, integrating an advanced optical construction. The lens features a combination of aspherical and ultra-low dispersion elements to reduce various aberrations, resulting in sharp, clear images. Coatings such as Subwavelength Structure Coating (SWC) and Air Sphere Coating (ASC) are implemented to suppress lens flare and ghosting, heightening contrast and color fidelity. The ring-type Ultrasonic Motor delivers rapid and whisper-quiet autofocus capability, complemented by a full-time manual focus and internal focusing mechanism. Built to withstand challenging environments, the lens is sealed against water and dust, and fluorine coatings on the front and rear elements guard against soiling and smudges, preserving image quality.

The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM is a high-performance wide-angle zoom lens designed for professional photographers. It features advanced optics, a constant f/2.8 aperture, and robust build quality.

The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM is a **full-frame** wide-angle zoom lens built for **Canon EF mount** DSLR cameras. With a focal length range spanning **16mm to 35mm** and a constant maximum aperture of **f/2.8**, it delivers reliable wide-angle coverage and strong low-light performance throughout the zoom range. The lens supports both **autofocus and manual focus**, providing flexibility across a range of shooting environments and styles. Weighing **790g**, it has the solid build quality expected of a professional zoom in this category. It is worth noting that **no image stabilization** is included, so photographers should plan their technique accordingly. Designed specifically for the **full-frame** format, it delivers complete image circle coverage on Canon's full-frame EF-mount DSLR bodies, making it a capable choice for photographers who need consistent wide-angle reach with a fast, constant aperture.

Covers ultra-wide to moderate wide focal lengths, making it suitable for landscapes, architecture, interiors, and environmental portraits.

16-35mm Wide-Angle Zoom

Maintains f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range, ensuring consistent exposure and depth of field control at every focal length.

Constant f/2.8 Aperture

Professional-grade construction with dust and weather sealing designed to hold up under demanding shooting conditions.

Canon L-Series Build

Ultrasonic motor delivers fast, quiet autofocus with full-time manual focus override without switching modes.

Ring-Type USM Autofocus

Designed for Canon's full-frame EF-mount DSLRs with complete image circle coverage and no vignetting on sensors like the 5D and 1D series.

Full-Frame EF Mount

Front and rear elements feature a fluorine coating that repels water, oil, and dust for easier cleaning in the field.

Fluorine Coating

Accepts standard 82mm filters such as circular polarizers and ND glass, a common size that's widely available.

82mm Filter Thread

Canon's ASC reduces flare and ghosting when shooting into strong light sources, a common challenge at wide angles.

Air Sphere Coating (ASC)

At 790g, the lens has the solid, substantial build expected of an L-series zoom while remaining practical for handheld use.

790g Professional Weight

This lens relies on steady technique or in-body stabilization from compatible bodies, so shutter speed management matters at slower exposures.
