Durable Build

The Fujifilm GSW690 is a **rangefinder**-style medium format film camera manufactured during the **1980s**, designed for use with **120** format film. It is a **fixed lens** camera — meaning there is no interchangeable lens system, and the camera is built entirely around its integrated optic. Focusing is **manual**, requiring the photographer to set focus deliberately using the rangefinder mechanism. Flash accessories can be mounted via the **cold shoe**, though this differs from a hot shoe connection. The shutter is a **leaf type**, integrated into the lens assembly rather than located at the focal plane. At **1,600g**, the GSW690 is a hefty, substantial body that communicates its durable build quality. For photographers who shoot **120** roll film and value the intentional, manual nature of rangefinder shooting, the GSW690 offers a purpose-built medium format experience with no autofocus distractions and no lens-swapping complexity — just a single, committed optical system and the deliberate craft of manual film photography.

The GSW690 is built around a fixed wide-angle 65mm lens, equivalent to roughly 28mm in 35mm terms, purpose-designed for landscape and architectural photography.

65mm f/5.6 Fixed Lens

Shoots 8 frames per roll of 120 film on a 6×9cm negative, one of the largest commonly available film formats for exceptional detail and tonal range.

6×9cm Medium Format

Coupled rangefinder mechanism allows precise manual focus through the viewfinder without requiring a separate ground glass or SLR mirror system.

Rangefinder Focusing

Built-in leaf shutter operates quietly and allows flash synchronization at all shutter speeds, a practical advantage over focal-plane designs.

Leaf Shutter Design

The camera is purpose-built around a single optical configuration, ensuring the lens and body are optimally matched from the factory.

Fixed Lens Construction

Accepts compatible external flash units via cold shoe, with the leaf shutter enabling full-speed sync for flash-lit work.

Cold Shoe Flash Mount

Solid, heavy build quality typical of professional-grade film cameras of its era, designed to withstand regular field use.

Fuji Fujifilm GSW690 II 6x9 Camera EBC SW 65mm f5.6Built like a tank. All shutter speeds are accurate. Aperture blades are dry. Shutter count on bottom is "205". The lense is an amazing 65mm f5.6 which is equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format terms. Camera has seen very little use over the last 10 years. Cosmetically it has some paint wear. Glass is clean. Sliding hood works well. This is called "Texas Leica" for a reason, basically a Leica on steroid, the best 6X9 camera ever. 8 sharp tacks negatives on 1 roll of 120 film.
