Leica Leitz 5cm 50mm f/3.5 Elmar M39 Collapsible Lens with yellow filter 1*

The Leica Leitz 5cm 50mm f/3.5 Elmar is a vintage collapsible lens designed for M39 screw mount cameras. Renowned for its compact design and optical clarity, it is a classic choice for photographers seeking a lightweight and portable lens with historical significance.

This item comes bundled with a vintage Leitz yellow filter, and a 35mm Leitz black plastic cap. I have not cleaned any glass on the lens or filter for fear of doing harm.

I inherited this lens from my grandfather, who had a large Leica collection. Unfortunately this was the only piece I inherited. I am not particularly knowledgeable about Leica, but will answer any questions you may have. I have listed "as is" condition as I feel I'm not able to assess it fully and I don't know the full history. I suspect this is pretty good for the age but fair overall?

I do wish to be reasonable on pricing. I've priced the item based on a $919 comparable at a retailer and $700 prices for the same lens in poorer condition and without a filter on second-hand sites. I've seen worse filters listed for $104 and far worse for $25-50. I'm open to any justified suggestions of value.
