The Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm ASPH. Lens is a broadly capable and reliable zoom lens designed for use with full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras. From expansive landscapes to detailed portraits, this lens covers a wide range of shooting scenarios with its 24-70mm focal range. It produces sharp images consistently at all apertures and focus distances. Crafted with three aspherical elements to minimize color fringing and distortion, it achieves high-quality imaging performance. The f/2.8 constant maximum aperture allows for control in varying light conditions and for isolating the subject with shallow depth of field. Additionally, its precise autofocus motor suits both photo and video creators. The lens's robust construction, sans optical image stabilization (OIS), ensures it remains portable without compromising on durability, with weather-sealing to withstand challenging weather and conditions.

The Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm ASPH. is a versatile standard zoom lens designed for the Leica SL system, offering exceptional optical performance and a constant f/2.8 aperture.

The Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm ASPH. is a **full-frame** standard zoom lens built around the **L-Mount**, designed for use with **mirrorless** camera systems. It spans a **24-70mm** focal range — a practical spread that works across a wide variety of photographic situations — while maintaining a **constant f/2.8 maximum aperture** throughout the zoom. That consistent aperture means no unexpected exposure shifts when zooming mid-shot, which is particularly useful in controlled or fast-moving environments. The lens supports **both autofocus and manual focus**, giving shooters the option to switch between assisted and fully manual operation depending on the demands of the situation. An **82mm filter thread** makes it straightforward to add ND, polarizing, or other filters to your workflow. Weighing **856g**, the lens is built with the solidity expected of a full-frame f/2.8 zoom. Note that **image stabilization is not included**, so stabilization-dependent shooting scenarios will require a compatible camera body with in-body stabilization. For L-Mount shooters looking for a versatile standard zoom with a bright, constant aperture, the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm covers the core focal range with confidence.

Covers a versatile standard zoom range with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, keeping exposure settings consistent throughout the zoom.

24-70mm f/2.8 Zoom

Native L-Mount design works across the full ecosystem of L-Mount mirrorless bodies from Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma without adapters.

L-Mount Compatibility

Designed specifically for full-frame sensors, ensuring complete coverage with no vignetting on any L-Mount mirrorless camera.

Full-Frame Image Circle

Supports both AF and MF operation, giving photographers the flexibility to switch between automated speed and hands-on precision control.

Autofocus & Manual Focus

Aspherical lens elements reduce spherical aberration and distortion for sharp, accurate rendering across the frame.

ASPH. Optical Elements

Standard 82mm front thread is widely compatible with circular polarizers, ND filters, and other common filter systems.

82mm Filter Thread

Weighs 856g, reflecting the robust optical construction expected at this aperture class — worth considering for extended handheld use.

856g Build Weight

Lacks in-lens image stabilization, so shooters in low light will depend on in-body stabilization from their camera body.

No Optical Stabilization
