I am listing this lens in Excellent condition, though cosmetically it borders on mint. It has been meticulously cared for in a smoke-free environment and shows few signs of handling or wear. I have tested this lens on a Nikon D800 body, and it performs flawlessly. This is a fully weather-sealed professional lens built like a tank.

Condition Details:

1. Optics: Near-pristine. The glass elements are clean, free of scratches, haze, or fungus. A small cleaning mark near the edge of the front element is barely detectable and will not affect optical performance. The front glass has been protected by a premium Nikon NC filter.
2. Autofocus & VR: The Silent Wave Motor is fast and silent. The Vibration Reduction (VR II) stabilizes instantly and stays quiet without any erratic jumping.
3. Mechanics: The zoom and focus rings are smooth with good resistance and no play. There is a mild grittiness in the zoom ring, common for this lens. The original tripod collar rotates cleanly and locks down tight.
4. Cosmetics: The lens barrel finish is immaculate. The rubber grips are firm, clean, and tight against the chassis with no peeling. There is some color fading on the rubber around the front element.
