[PATINA BEAUTY] Vintage Nikon EL (Nikkormat) 35mm SLR Body + 2x Lenses (28mm f/2.8 & Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm)

Item Description: Up for sale is a classic 35mm film SLR setup: the iconic Nikon EL (Nikkormat EL) body paired with two excellent lenses: a wide-angle Zykkor MC 28mm f/2.8 prime lens and the legendary Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm f/2.8-3.5 VMC Macro zoom lens.

The Nikon EL was a major milestone in photo history, featuring a rugged metal chassis, electronical aperture-priority auto-exposure, and a rock-solid copal square metal shutter (1s to 1/1000s). The Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm VMC (manufactured by Komine) is widely celebrated among vintage lens enthusiasts for its outstanding optics and fast aperture throughout the zoom range.

Condition Report:

1. Nikon EL Body Cosmetic Condition: Superb vintage patina. Shows honest, light brassing and cosmetic wear on the metal edges, giving it an authentic, highly desirable aesthetic look.
2. Optics (Zykkor 28mm f/2.8): Pristine condition. Glass is clean and clear. No fungus, no haze, no separation, and no scratches.
3. Optics (Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm): Pristine condition. Glass is clear with beautiful VMC multi-coatings intact. Smooth zoom and focus action. No fungus or haze.

Functionality & Mechanical Note:

1. Electronic & Shutter: Fully tested with a battery. The electronic shutter fires accurately across all speeds, light meter is responsive, and film advance operates smoothly.
2. Mirror Lock-Up (MUP) Flaw: The Mirror Lock-Up mechanism (MUP) is non-functional. The mirror operates normally during standard exposures/shutter releases, but it cannot be manually locked up in the raised position. This does not impact standard day-to-day handheld or tripod photography.

Shipping & Handling

1. Shipping Area: Ships to Canada and the USA only.

3. Packaging: As an experienced collector of over 30 cameras and vintage glass, I treat sensitive optics with extreme care. Since the 28mm lens lacks a front cap, its front element will be covered with a non-abrasive protective layer before being wrapped in anti-static materials. The body and both lenses will be individually cushioned in multiple thick layers of heavy-duty bubble wrap inside a rigid box for safe transport.
