The Kodak Medalist II (introduced in 1946) is a legendary American medium-format rangefinder. Renowned as the "American Leica", it is celebrated for its tank-like build, military-grade ruggedness, and a spectacularly sharp Kodak Ektar 100mm f/3.5 lens. It remains highly sought after by photographers and collectors alike for its outstanding image quality.

1. Ektar Lens: The camera features a 100mm f/3.5 Ektar (a 5-element Tessar-type design). Widely considered one of the finest optics Kodak ever produced, it is fully lumenized (coated) to reduce flare and maximize contrast, resulting in tack-sharp, highly detailed negatives.
2. Massive Negative Size: It utilizes 620 roll film to capture stunning 6 × 9 cm negatives, giving photographers rich detail and beautiful depth of field across just 8 frames per roll.
