Manual Controls

The Sigma DP2 is a point-and-shoot compact camera centered on an **APS-C** sensor with **14MP** resolution, a pairing that sets it apart from most cameras in its category. The **TRUE II** image processor handles all imaging tasks, and the camera's ISO sensitivity runs from **50 to 3200**, providing a workable range for both bright daylight and lower-light environments. Autofocus uses a **contrast detection** system with **9 selectable points**, though eye tracking and subject tracking are not available. Still images can be shot in burst mode at up to **3fps**, and color output is available in **sRGB** or **Adobe RGB**. The body is made of a **plastic/metal composite**, measuring **113.3 x 59.5 x 54.6mm** and weighing **280g**. The rear **2.5-inch TFT LCD** at **230,000 dots** is the sole composition aid — no viewfinder is present. Storage is through **SD and SDHC** cards, and a **pop-up built-in flash** with a Guide Number of **6 (ISO 100/m)** is included. Battery life is rated at approximately **250 shots** per the CIPA standard. The camera has no weather sealing and no wireless connectivity.

The DP2 uses Sigma's Foveon X3 APS-C sensor, which captures full color data at every pixel location rather than using a Bayer color filter array, resulting in distinctive rendering with high perceived sharpness.

APS-C Foveon Sensor

A fixed 24.2mm f/2.8 lens (41mm full-frame equivalent) provides a natural, slightly wide perspective well-suited to street and everyday photography.

41mm Equivalent Fixed Lens

Sigma's TRUE II processor handles the demanding task of processing Foveon sensor data, managing color reconstruction and noise reduction.

TRUE II Image Processor

A base ISO of 50 allows for clean images in bright conditions, while ISO 3200 extends usability into lower-light situations.

ISO 50–3200 Range

Shooting in Adobe RGB captures a wider color gamut, which is useful for print workflows and professional color grading.

Adobe RGB Color Support

The camera records Sigma's native X3F RAW files, giving photographers full access to sensor data for post-processing in Sigma Photo Pro.

RAW (X3F) File Format

At 280g and 113.3 x 59.5 x 54.6mm, the DP2 fits a large-format sensor into a genuinely pocketable form factor.

Compact APS-C Body

Nine selectable contrast-detection autofocus points give the shooter control over focus placement across the frame.
